Cats die for the Olympics

Published on 16 Mar. 2008 from alex

Katzen Olympia According to various reports (Sueddeutsche, sports news, the evening newspaper), the Chinese government very special plans to get at the Olympic Games in August, very clean and tidy to present: Until the games start, all stray dogs and cats the capital Beijing will be eliminated, as the director of the Beijing Agriculture Bureau announced.

That means that up to the ignition of the Olympic torch in Beijing on 8 August 2008 approx 200,000 dogs and 10,000 cats will die. They are trapped and either a cruel way slain, drowned or burned alive in a shelter or received, in which they are without food and water in cages the size of a microwave to die slowly and painfully. Like Qin Xiaona from Beijing Animal Welfare Association (CAWA) reported, have 90 percent of the animals after only a few days terrible diseases, starve or die. To more effectively purge were in Beijing even 18 special vehicles purchased. As a reason for the cleanup, the security of athletes and visitors indicated. These animals are usually extremely shy and avoid humans. A contact can hardly be expected.

Obviously, the action of Germans criticized federal welfare. But Chinese to criticism. "Mistreatment of animals goes against the Olympic spirit. Athletes want to really participate in the games, with the cruel deaths of thousands of animals were bought? "Said the opinion of Qin Xiaona.

In 1980 took place at the Olympic Games in Moscow in a similar purge instead. The consequences were unpleasant: it was the biggest rat plague, which Moscow had ever experienced.

A very interesting report, I have just at dailymail.co.uk found.

From a country that since ancient times human rights with feet occurs, I expect even in matters of animal love is not the slightest! Anything you can do is absolutely hinterwäldlerische this country in any form to block and boycott. I am buying has long been no Chinese (also Japanese!) More products and I will do a vicious and me the Olympic games! One can only hope that the athletes the same view and do not go into such an undignified country! Perhaps would have been the Olympic committee before the election of the host country times more accurately advise. I can only say: Fie!

I hope it will still very much involved. However, I do not believe that the Chinese people by the protest of their projects can hold. But perhaps this issue gets and / or the general welfare by at least short term, a wider public, so many people around the world about the everyday abuse of animals (not just in China) are informed and perhaps themselves active (s) for animal welfare in the future use. Each individual can, for example, through animal "consumption" part of an animal world. It is not so difficult.

I'm sitting here at PC and am so horrified and must weep, not seen in such a hostile animal, quälerischen country aligns the Olympics! It is incomprehensible to me how to get there with dogs and cats bypasses, how can we stop these people? It can not be true, I stagnates breathing! How can you forbid it with the animals so bypasses, they are from God as we! Why do not you opposed? There is no welfare there? I must confess I have great hatred for these people and these countries are taboo for me, so cruel to our animals.

What makes me sad is that this petition only a few people will be signed. That makes me doubt whether the petition on anything will result. I would like to do more, but do not know exactly what I can do to something to achieve. I would also, if it would help somewhat, for example, in Tuebingen (which in my vicinity) hinstellen and the people something about the cat and dog killings in Beijing tell the people anything about it. I have the impression that more about Tibet reports (which of course is important), but the animal dying one sees on television for example, nothing. If this is somebody from the vicinity of Tuebingen reads and, as I also would be willing, the people personally about the animal killings to inform, can he / she leave a comment here, then we could have more to encourage people to petition sign. Alone I would do so only reluctantly.
And if someone here's a tip for me, which I still worthwhile could do, I would be very grateful.

When I read something, I get the pimples. Not only that China is against any kind of violates human rights, no, now needs a "clean" China produces and cats and dogs must die so that they are in a good light stand.

The best way is: athletes of our country .... waives Olympics ... then you are the real medal winners of the heart .... This is my Apelles and boycotted! ....
That would be the same as if we in the football World Cup 2006, all alcoholics, drug sick, the homeless would have locked us they would slowly starve ... so that the cities' clean 'stay.
    China ... ... .. YOU ashamed!

Not bad enough that the IOC organizing peaceful games in such an inhumane country can take place now will also have numerous cats and dogs their lives for "a clean China 'leave.
    I can only say:
Fie, Chinese government, ashamed of you of your Decent and tierverachtenden attitude!
IOC, ashamed of you, for the choice of venue, with your contemptible behavior that the Chinese government still supports!
Ashamed of you, your athletes, for you to the evil machinations so let clamp, and you too peaceful game on blood terrain will unite!
A silent acquiescence of the behavior I can only despise, and I hereby urge all parties to work consistently against the human and tierverachtende attitude of the Chinese government to collect and clearly for the ethical values that we all desire should be , Since human rights principles to any civilized constitution.

Well, how does the Moscow example, should perhaps be someone to remind the Chinese that this is not necessarily so sensible measure. And further, that guarantees no visitors at the sight of a volatile street dog in the same trousers or so makes a bad image of China has. Everywhere where the Westerners' vacation (Mediterranean, Caribbean, Africa, Southeast Asia), includes such animals to the street scene. I think the IOC should urgently times abringen an opinion, because politically it would not half as uncomfortable as another word for Tibet conflict.

This topic has more than political backgrounds, dear writers, it has the world economy! The IOC (a bunch of ailing monetary and machtgieriger pigs) will award the Games to naturally love to nations with similar ambitions. The really suffer are not the dogs and cats in Beijing (although those my personal sympathy goes declared), but thousands of athletes (I mean the ungedopten!), Which is 4 or more years of torment and flay to their nation for medals win, while corrupt media horny international sports functionaries million cash. Olympics are dirtiest business on this planet has become. Let the rats from Beijing is not only the devour corrupt Chinese government, but still a few more internationally hochdekorierte members of the IOC.
My compassion for all cats, dogs and athletes!
One who knows what she speaks!
